Happy Christmas 2021

We’ve almost come to the end of another year. For most, 2021 will surely be one to forget, marred with lockdowns and financial uncertainty. We can only hope that 2022 may offer us all a safe pathway out of this dreadful pandemic.

As always, I am grateful to you for your support, and for reading and subscribing to my blog throughout the year. See you in 2022 for more piano posts and articles from myself and a whole host of guest writers.

I leave you with one of my favourite festive works: The Concert Suite from Tchaikovsky’s classic ballet The Nutcracker. Arranged by Mikhail Pletnev, and, in the performance linked below, played by Russian pianist Alexei Volodin, who gave this concert at the Mariinsky Concert Hall (in St Petersburg, Russia) in 2011.

Wishing you and your family a very Happy Christmas and a peaceful New Year

For much more information about how to practice piano repertoire, take a look at my piano course, Play it again: PIANO (published by Schott Music). Covering a huge array of styles and genres, the course features a large collection of progressive, graded piano repertoire from approximately Grade 1 to advanced diploma level, with copious practice tips for every piece. A convenient and beneficial course for students of any age, with or without a teacher, and it can also be used alongside piano examination syllabuses too.

You can find out more about my other piano publications and compositions here.
